Laura Fanucchi is associate professor of medicine in the Division of Infectious Disease in the University of Kentucky College of Medicine and the Center on Drug and Alcohol Research. She is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Addiction Medicine and is director of the UK Addiction Consult and Education Service. She provides treatment for opioid use disorder in the UK Bluegrass Care Clinic and in the UK First Bridge Clinic, and conducts clinical research on the integration of evidence-based treatment for opioid use disorder in general medical settings.

HEALing Communities Study role: Fanucchi is co-lead of the Treatment Team, providing DATA-2000 waiver trainings and overseeing the curriculum development and delivery of the weekly KY-OPEN (Kentucky Overdose Prevention Education Network) didactics with community partners. She supervised the study implementation, data collection and evaluation as well as provides clinical expertise for the intervention teams. She co-developed the training manuals for the recovery coaches and care navigator work forces.
